Before you start

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • At least 40 GB free space on your Windows drive (C:)
  • A stable internet connection — the update downloads ~34 GB
  • Your PortableMind USB, plugged in
  • Your order number (from TikTok Shop or portablemind.io)

How it works

  1. Download and extract

Download the zip below, then extract BOTH files (PortableMindUpdater.exe and pmfp.exe) into the same folder. They must sit next to each other.

  2. Run the Updater

Double-click PortableMindUpdater.exe. If Windows SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click "More info", then "Run anyway" — the warning appears because the app is new, not because anything is wrong. Then accept the administrator (UAC) prompt; the Updater needs it to write to your USB.

  3. Enter your order number

Pick your PortableMind USB drive from the list, type your order number, choose where you ordered (TikTok or portablemind.io), and click Start.

  4. Leave the USB plugged in

The update downloads and writes ~34 GB — keep the computer awake and the USB plugged in until the Updater says it is done. Your conversations are preserved automatically.

Good to know

  • If the Updater says your update is "being reviewed", that is normal during launch — try again a little later.
  • The update never deletes your conversations — they are backed up and restored automatically as part of the process.
  • Do not unplug the USB mid-update. If something goes wrong, run the Updater again — it is safe to retry.
  • Use PortableMind on a Mac? Hold off — this update is for Windows-based PortableMinds only right now. The macOS update is coming and we'll announce it. Running this updater on a Mac-based unit would replace it with the Windows version, so please wait for yours.
